Abby Klinkenberg (b. 1993) was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2015, she graduated summa cum laude from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and English Literature. She moved to Berlin, Germany, later that year to pursue her master’s degree in Global Studies at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, which she earned in 2020. As part of the Global Studies Program, she studied at the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO) in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi, India. During this time, she completed her thesis on the politics of knowledge production, examining contemporary Western astrology as a case study. She earned an additional master’s degree from Humboldt in 2021 in the interdisciplinary social sciences, focusing on the ethics of international development practice.
She loves the NBA, Latin American literature, existential philosophy, early-2000s television, rap music, poetry, and rain.
